Overview/Content
The area of Swimming Pool Legislation can be quite complicated. As experienced, practising Certifiers and Swimming Pool Compliance Officers, our presenters will highlight the relevant parts of the legislation and Standards that you as a Certifier will be expected to understand.
We will provide interpretation and explanations that is generally typical of industry and government expectations by using real case scenarios and experiences. We will also go through your responsibilities and obligations as a Swimming Pool Inspector.
The course is offered in a blended method of both online and face-to-face training. The initial part of the course is offered online, allowing you to learn the fundamentals in your own time, and in your own environment. This is supplemented by two days of face-to-face training which involves a practical inspection of a swimming pool barrier. 

Learning Objectives
This course provides an in depth understanding of the requirements of the NSW Swimming Pool Act, Regulations, the NCC and relevant Australian Standards, delving into why certain requirements are enforced in particular we look at:
•    Why swimming pool safety is so important•    The requirements of the Swimming Pool Act and Regulations•    The exemptions of the Act and when they apply•    How to establish which version of the Australian Standard to          apply with reasons why•    The specific requirements of each AS1926 – 1986, as 1926.1-         2007 and AS1926.1-2012, including what should or shouldn’t       be within a Non- Climbable Zone•    How to adequately inspect a swimming pool barrier using             practical and real case scenarios•    How to enforce the legal requirements of the Swimming Pool       legislation and implement legal action•    How to interact with clients in a regulated environment•    The recirculation requirements of the Australian Standard              1926.3 and how to prevent swimming pool entrapment.

Delivery Mode
The course is offered in a blended method involving both an online and face-to-face training component

It is expected that the online component is successfully completed prior to attending the face-to-face session.
