As required by NSW Fair Trading, all new Certifiers in any of the Building Surveying Classes of registration must complete the Complying Development Course in their first year of registration. Our course is recognised by Fair Trading.

This is a one-day interactive course that focuses on the requirements of Complying Development Certificate (CDC) assessment by Building Certifiers practising in NSW. This course is suitable for both new Certifiers who need to fulfil their obligations in their first year of accreditation as well as experienced building surveyors wishing to update and reinforce their knowledge while obtaining valuable CPD points.

The course is also beneficial for Architects, Building Designers and Developers wanting to learn more about CDC requirements

On completion of the course you will have increased knowledge and skills in a range of elements and scenarios across the CDC assessment process.

The course will provide a focus on delivery, assessment and evaluation of Complying Development Applications using a best practice model, in particular:

1. Best practice CDC models for a range of scenarios in the built environment

2. Research skills in identifying, locating and interpreting the relevant sections of the EP & A Act, Regulation and SEPP's

3. Documented and evidence based decision making processes for issuing CDC's

4. Increased knowledge of policy and procedures for issuing CDCs in NSW

5. Knowledge of the NSW Fair Trading requirements, with on the Building and Development Certifiers Act and Regulations

6. A better understanding of ethical behaviour.

The course will be delivered in a one day face to face environment which includes real case scenarios. Electronic learning resource material will also be provided. The course will offer you the opportunity to ask questions and to provide examples for discussion.
